The Vanderbeekers to the Rescue

The Vanderbeekers to the Rescue, by Karina Yan Glaser, is a work of art. As it is the most animal-centered book in the series, I find that I am particularly partial to it. The Vanderbeekers are enjoying the start of spring break. Several exciting things are happening, Isa has a violin audition, Oliver and his uncle are building a treehouse, and Mama’s baking business is doing extremely well. So well in fact that a big-time magazine wants to feature her business in their October issue. Which is wonderful, right? Until an unexpected inspector arrives earlier than planned, and catastrophe strikes. Can they fix it before the photo shoot?? Surely they can. But with a string of mishaps, failed inspections, unexpected fines, and several mysteries to solve, they certainly have hard time of it. There’s also Mama’s birthday to think about, how can they get her a good birthday present when they’ve ruined her livelihood? And how will they ever fix it? I love this book, and hope you will too.
