The Vanderbeekers Lost and Found by Karina Yan Glaser is the fourth book in the Vanderbeeker series. This is one of my very favorites! In the series, I would rate this as my second favorite! The storyline is typical to the rest of the Vanderbeeker books; there’s a problem and the Vanderbeekers are there to fix it. It’s autumn, and the Vanderbeekers are all dealing with different problems. For Isa, it’s homecoming issues. For Jessie, it’s friendship problems. For Oliver, it’s having to wear a tomato costume to the Halloween fun run. For Hyacinth, it’s her shyness. For Laney, well, Laney doesn’t have much of a problem until an unexpected disaster occurs. But each sibling ends up with the same problem in the end: dealing with the truth of who the mysterious person connected to the community garden is. Meanwhile between the two terrible disasters, there’s Mr. Beiderman’s marathon coming up, and each Vanderbeeker is asking the same question: How can a man who didn’t leave his apartment for six years run a marathon? I totally love this book! And I hope you will too!
