The Star That Always Stays

The Star That Always Stays by Anna Rose Johnson is phenomenal! I absolutely loved this book! I recently stumbled upon this author and am reading all her books! (And anxiously awaiting the arrival of her newest book “Secrets At Sparhawk Point” which will be released in August 2026! I’ve lent every book by her that I’ve read so far to my dear friend, and she likes them too! The wonderful and captivating storyline is: Norvia Nelson is a girl of dreams, dreams of high school, dreams of dances, dreams of not having divorced parents or a stepfamily or having to hide who she truly is: A Ojibwe girl. All these changes are difficult—especially her new stepbrother, Vernon. And books become a huge comfort to her! Books including: Emma, The Story Girl, Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, A Little Princess, and other recognizable classics. The heroines in these incredible books remind her to stand strong, to not be timid or shy, and that she can strive to be better. But living inside the stories she loves isn’t the same as living real life, and dealing with family problems, school problems, popularity problems, and all sorts of problems. Will any of these problems ever be solved? Norvia doesn’t think so, but maybe… I love this book so much and hope you enjoy it just as much as I did!
