The Nerviest Girl in the World
by Melissa Wiley
The Nerviest Girl in the World by Melissa Wiley is an excellent book, you will definitely be laughing for most of it! This is a book I got recently, and I will definitely read it over again many more times! The book is focused on the topic of early motion pictures, and a girl named Pearl. Pearl lives on a ranch just outside Lemon Springs, California. Pearl tends to the ostriches, and while there are other things to tend to besides the ostriches, she still gets stuck with the ostrich chores because she is the youngest. Pearl has three older brothers, Bill, Ike, and Frank. When they get pulled into doing stunts for something called “moving pictures” Pearl is thoroughly interested. But she never dreamed she might end up doing stunts herself! Soon, however, she’s caught up in show business, and even dreams of being a star! But how will she convince her mother that it’s safe? And how will she ever become a star, once Mary Mason arrives on set? And how exactly will she earn the name “Nerviest Girl in the World?” I would definitely recommend this book, and I hope you enjoy it!
