Lena, the Sea, and Me

Lena, the Sea, and Me, by Maria Parr, is the sequel to “Adventures with Waffles” and it is wonderful. True to Maria Parr’s typical emotional style of writing, this book certainly has its fair share of ups and downs. Trille and Lena have grown up a little bit, and with that comes a boatload of fresh trouble. Both Trille and Lena are dealing with things, for Lena it’s dealing with getting kicked out of her position as goalkeeper, wanting a little sibling, her dislike for music, and, as usual, her temper. For Trille, it’s figuring out how to impress Birgit, dealing with new changes, and, as usual, Lena’s temper. So when they are bombarded with these issues, their friendship is put on thin ice, and it doesn’t help that Trille got another sibling, and Lena doesn’t have any. As you can see, from first crushes, to hurricanes, this book covers it all.
